Old Montréal website receives one million visitors
and 39 million hits annually!
|
In late April 2006 a milestone was reached, as the official Old Montréal website joined the millionaires' club! Visitors – 23% of whom report that they live in the United States, along with another 19% hailing from Europe – spent an average of 11 minutes and 30 seconds browsing the site (statistics that are more than respectable considering users are constantly on the lookout for something new).
With financial support from the Québec Ministry of Culture and Communications and the City of Montréal pursuant to the Agreement on the Cultural Development of Montréal, the site's content is continually being enriched.

The "Hotels and Inns" section has been completely redesigned to better showcase the available resources. It also now supports online bookings for hotels linked to the "Bonjour Québec" reservation system. |
|
The "Practical Information" section includes, among other features, several printer-friendly maps to make visits more enjoyable (including a map of the approximately 10,000 parking spaces available in Old Montréal and nearby). The section also has details on guided tours, up-to-date weather info, public transit routes and more.

More information on the historical borough's heritage buildings continues to be placed online, with details on both exterior and interior architecture recently added. Users can also view new records on City Hall as well as the Lucien-Saulnier building, one of the few municipal buildings to be listed as a historic monument. Some 20 other buildings accessible to the public will benefit from the same treatment between now and late fall 2006. (this section is only available in French for the moment) |
A search bar is now accessible from within the site, enabling queries into all pages.
Enjoy your visit!
