The Jury's Motivations:

"Project Old Montréal Website is a wonderful example of the innovative possibilities opened by ICTs to communities to disseminate knowledge and information about their rich heritages and beautiful cities. Projetc Old Montréal Website has done everything right to enhance and make enjoyable the experience of a virtual visit to Old Montréal. It is particularly aimed at disseminating and expanding the knowledge of the heritage and history of Old Montréal and to highlight and promote the historical city centre of Montréal. In this task, the project uses innovative tools, offering a range of ways not only of integrating data about people, events, historical periods and other kinds of "human interest" details, but also of disseminating information on history and heritage, including a new type of scientific heritage inventory."
